Obituary.
Miss Victoria Hughes, daughter
of Mr and Mrs W A Hughes, of the
Brown Swamp community, near
Brown Swamp M iL Church, South,
in this county, was born November
21st, 18811, and died September 22rd,

Hughes was sick seventeen days and
sutlVred a great deal, but no rebellious
wurd nor murmured complaint
esciped her lips. Toe bereaved i'atnily
and the entire community are sad
because one whom tkoy loved has
gone from time to eternity. Miss
flushes was an unusually lovable
cha acter Tqcs3 who knew her
best loved her most, but strangers
meeting her for the first time were
drawn to her by her quiet, gentle
and lovable disposition. Miss "Vic,'
as she was known among her com
panions, will be greatly missed, not
on y in her father's home but in the
entire community and inherchurch.
She was converted and joined the
church at Brown Swamp eight or
nine years ago under the ministry
of the late Rev T B Reynolds, of the
South Carolina Conference, and to

consistent member of her church.
The funeral service was conducted
at Brown Swamp church September
24th, by her pastor, the writer of
this obituary, and her body was iutered
in the cemetery hard by the
church to await the resurrection of
