The commissioners of State and
county Election met iu Conway last
Thursday and appointed the managers
who are to hold the general
election for State and County offices.
The bond issue for good roads will
be voted upon at the same time and
the result declared.
The Hoard of Trade will take ste^s
in the near future to get in touch
wiih the builders of the new railroad
which will span the county from
wost to east, opening to the world
one of the greatest agricultural
regions of this State,
Noah H Jenrette, of Mullins spent
several days in Conway on business
last week, visiting relatives in this
county in the mean while. Mr Jenrette
is the efficient assistantcashier
of the Merchants and Planters Bank
uf Mullins, one of the leading financial
institutions of our sister county.
Sheriff B J Sessions last Friday
received a letter from Governor
M F Ansel, stating that the authorities
at Whitoville, N. C., had a man
in custody there who was crazy and
who claimed to be a cit.zen of Horry
County, and giving his name as
Daniel Bellamy. The sheriff went
over to Whiteville afte** the man
and brought him here for examination
before ihe Judge of Probate.
He will be examined bv the physician
and committed to the State Hospital
at Columbia.
In these days and in this generation
the world is by far too small to
hold a glass of beer and a sausage

patriotic sons of Horry to say on

Highway Improvement Bonds", and
those opposed to issuing the said
