the waiting room at the railroad
station of the S. A. L. at Laurinburg,
the county seat of Scotland,

like a gluttonous cur after having
lapped up the milk which had been
given a sick cat. Furthermore when
five barrooms existed in that town
it was dangerous for a lady to go

go with all safety, never thinking

that town is practically true of all
1 have been on the streets of Lumber
ton at all hours of the day and 1

of our word prohibition. It
comes from two Latin words which

The fellows who argue that more
liquor is drunk under prohibition (
than when barrooms flourished are 1
but echoing the groans of a dying
calf. The saloon is doomed and the
titne is in tho not-distant-future i
when all the States will have prohi- '
bition, for the leaven is at work. j
