murder charge last year and acquitted
but who was at once re-arrested
upon a charge of perjury, he having
testilicd to a ditTerent state of facts
at the inquest and at his trial. He
was convicted and sentenced to the
chaingang but he has made a model
prisoner and the authorities stated
that he deserves a pardon.
