The Ohildrens' Day entertainment
at Union church last vSunday exceeded
our most sanguine expectations.
It was pronounced by all
who were fortunate enough to atr""'"
tend, to be a grand success. Logy
before the appointed time came to
commence, the church was crowded
with people who came from far
and near to witness the exorcisos
and many expressed regret that the
church would not seat more than
one half of the people.
The great success of the entertainment,
which was said by many
to be the best ever held in this section,
was due to the untiring efforts
of Mr J. F. Harper, Mrs A. M. Duaenbury
and Miss Grace Haselden.
The introductory remarks of Mr
Harper, who acted as master of
ceremonies, was very appropriate:
In a few well chosen woids Mr Harper
asked the audience not to cheer
the speakers, which request was
complied with until a little girl four
years of ago recited "Good-byo"
without showing any sign of embarrassment
whatever.
Many were heard to say "The
Bouquet Drill" surpassed anything
that they had e^er seen at an entertainment.

church have arranged a delight- A
ful trip around tne World for the
benefit of the new church. The train
is scheduled to 'leave New York
city, (the Methodist church) next I
Friday evening at 7 ^.o'clock and
every fifteen minutes thereafter, and
stop at Boston, Japan, Holland, Bo *
hernia, Cuba and Washington. At
each place visited refreshments
will be served by persons in nauive
costume characteristic of that
place. Everybody is urged to take
this delightful trip as it is an oppor- v
tunity to visit these places that will *
perhaps never occur again in a life ?
time. The fare for the trip is 50 \
