r I Wat gtall Bntored at the I'cst Ofllco a' Conway, IS. C. hh Bocouu CiH^h Mail Matter. * 0JIL1SHKI) KVKKY TlfUKflDAV MOHN1NG BY CONWAY PUBLISHING CO. UP iv'KIPTJON ONE DOLL A If PICK YKAK H. H. WOOOWAKD. Krlitor THRUSDAY, APRIL 21, 1910. Tho rains of Saturday Bight and Sunday morning wore indeed very opportune, anu saved to the people of Horry thousands of dollars. The Conway market is plentifully supplied with fine Klondike strawberry cullings at 10 cents per quart, which is at the rate of $3 20 per bushel. They are yet too rich for our blood and we will have to wait until they become cheaper. The' municipal authorities are quite active in an effort to stamp out blind tiger ism in Conway. Tn this they wiJl receive the moral support of every law abiding citizen of the community irrespective of individual opinion. The closed, door policy is a policy of stagnation'.] and death, hence is ruinous to any community wherever it is permitted to show its hydra head. Let us throw wide open our doors and invite and welcome capital, the home seeker and the wa^e earner, Then will Conway prosper and all its interests thrive as they have never done before. We are yet firmly convinced that the most important investment that Conway capital can possibly seek can be found only in a cotton mill. Such an investment will not only iargly increase the volume of the circulating currency, but it wil] also increase the population of Con way so that the products of oui farms, our gardens and our steams will find a ready sale at remunera live prices. Usually the price determines the quality of the fabric and the best always sells for the highest price So, this robe of righteousness is declared by our Master to be the "best", because it cost all thai heaven had to give and every repenting sinner may wear it, and Isaiah's prophecy becomes a matter personal experience. "For he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of rightousness, as a bridegroom deketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adoructh herself with jewels " 2. It is the best because it will not fade. When purchasing material for our dress we secure, as oest we can, the fastest colors; but no dyer can - ' - > r i. i..., so imprint I no coiors ui msoit nun the sunshine and I ho air will not fade them. But the seething, scorching of the eternal pit cannot leave their smell upon this garment worn by him who has been saved from sin. "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be clothed etc." 3. It is the best, because it will last. We are often disappointed when our hard earned dollars have been spent and the garments purchased soon fail us. But this robe will never become even thread bare. "For I am nersuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor prinrttnnlft.iAB. nor oowers, nor things * present, ror things to com;1, nor height, nor depth, nor any oilier creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of (led, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." 4 It is best, b< cause it fits all who obey. No clothier keeps such a perfectly splendid supply in which can be found a single garment that will exactly ht everv individual. But this rcbe perfectly lits every person who, like the poor publican becomes humble enough to wear it, and there will be no excuse if any should be "cast out." "Friend, how earnest thou in This contractor ^!ot results. Some years ago a con tractor building a railroad in a warm climate was troubled a great deal by sickness among the laborers. l ie turned his attenti< in at once to their food and found tl ?at they were getting full rations of m eat and were drinking water from a st.ream near by. He issued orders to cut down the amount of meat and to in crease greatly the quantity of Quaker Oats fed to the men. He also boiled Quaker Oats and mixed the thin oatmeal water with their drinking water. Almost instantly all si^ns of stomach disorders passed and his men showed a decided improvement in strength and spirits. This contractor had experience that taught him the great value of good oatmeal. 53 ^Packed in regular size packages, dim in 11^1 y svaitu una iui liui climates. hithor not having a wedding garment? And be was speechless/' 5. It is best, because all may have it. There are no State lines nor national bounderies; no class distinctions nor race discrimina-i tions, no social standing nor financial wealth. "For he is nob willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 6. It is best, because it protects from the temptations of the world. Of the force of this expression we are perfectly couscious, for there is uo material dress that can protect the hardy sons of manual toi) from the mud and slush and the grease and smut that so often soil them. R n f n o/l i lio ohntnnl I lio?< c j;ui? VM;U, tur- g'.t/i ucii i (iMiui , uuo) through his Son, Jesus Christ, ordered a robe put upon the returning prodigal that protects from the common temptations of the world. Not, however, that we will have no temptation, but with the tern pat ion such as is common to man, "He who is fni thful makes a way to escape." Asa preacher, we have been placed under almost every kind of environment, but we seldom hear an oath; and no one offers us strong drink. The card players seem to respect us and the squeamish, foolish jesters in our presence quietly give place to a conversation more uplifting* and enlivening "1 will never leave thee nor forsake thee.
