the Q.iil to have been located at
Conway, but as the merchants and

that they did not want the mill,
we are tl*ally glad that the business

saw th ir opportunity and had
the pluck and energy to grasp it.
We a'e sincere in extending our
congratulations to the people of

think that we are putting it too
strongly when we state that the
success of the cotton seed oil mill as
already an assured fact and that the
whole county joins in singing the
praise of the enterprise of the men
behind it.
Senator Spivey has t vo measure
in the Legislature that are of especial
interest to the people of Iiorry,
one giving the Supervisor authority
to sell the "poor farm," and the
other authorizing the State Sinking

These measures were introduced
by Mr Spivey at the request
of the Board of County Commissiorers

The other bill was to enable
the Supervisor to borrow $H,000 at
a low rate of interest, finish paying
for the bridge and to use the balance
on 1 he roads. As Supervisor Murreli
is opposed to selling the farm and
Mr Sp'vey's purpose was to strengthen,
not weaken the Supervisor in
the prosecution of the duties of his
office, he has decided to withdraw
both bills. More's the pity.
