On December the 24th, 11)09, at
about 12:H0 in the early morn, came
the death angel, to the old home of
Franklin A. Prince, near Lor is, S. |
C., and took from us, the baby of
the family, Andrew Fletcher, in the i
bloom of life, aud in his 25th year.
Fletcher had contracted the deadly
white plague, tuburcelosis, about"
one year ago, after recovering from
a very severe case of pnoumouia, by
exposing himself to early in a desire

he would out live the terrible plague j
and sought reliof in the mountains
of North Carolina during the summer,
where he gradually improved
but upon his return home in the
winter, he seemed to decline and
became weaker, until the end came,
which was very sudden, and as a
young babe dropping oil' to sleep in
its mother's arms.
His devoted and every watchful
wife and mother, with a few relatives
and friends, were by his bedside
when the spirit of this noble
bov, who had made a brave but uu
successful light for life, passed away
to join the angels above. His death
was a great shock to his many relatives
and friends, and his friends
were many, as to know him was t >
love him. He was a Mason and ai
Woodman, loyal to the fraternities,
and his life w as an emblem of Christian
love, morality and virtue. He
joined the Pleasant Home Baptist i
church early in youth, of which his
old father was a life long and faith-1
ful member, and who preceded him
to the Heavenly home some twelve
years before, and since his confession,
he has been one of its strongest
and most faithful members, always
desiring to do his Master's
work. Ho was devoted to His Sunday
school, and will bo greatly missed
in his church and community
where he was known.
Fletcher was an obedient son, a

uevoieu ana uiieouonate husband,
and a loving father. lie was married
to Miss Susie Golda Rowell, a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. T.
Rowel), of Nichols, on the seventeenth
day of February, nineteen
huudred and three, who survives
him: also three precious little jewels
to them were given, tho brighten
and make happy their home, Burris,
Louiso audEvelyo. All was done
for him that medical science, and
liio tender and affectionate hands of
a loving and devoted wife and
mother could do, but the summons
came, and the will of our Heaveniv
Father was done.
The funeral services were conducted
at the old home, about three
o'clock Christmas day, by the Rev.
S. B Wilson, of Fair BiulT, and the
enterment took place immediately
following the impressive services,
which are a living tribute to the
memory of our loved one, and will
ever be borne upon our hearts as
dear to l.is memory. The body was
laid to rest in the Princeville Cemetery,
in tho family lot, by the local
Masonic order, to await the resurrection
morn. The Woodmen will
hold their services later at the unveiling
of the Monument.
While we mourn our loss, our
hearts go out in deepest spmpathy
to the broken-hearted wife and
mother, still we know that our loss
ib ins eternal gain, and we shall
someday meet him face to face, and
know as we have known.
A precious one from us has gone,
The voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our homo,
That can never be filled.
