If the farmers of Horry are will- (

their own experience.

what uninformed farmers that ho 1

pulls the wool over their eves. If I
those men want the best advice they
should go to the experiment station ^
for it, and got the best, as they are j,
paid by the State and are working
solely for the uplifting of the cause \
of agriculture in the State. But
there are some who sneer at scion- 2
t-ifio farmers and think they know
it. all, and will not heed good advice. ^
Those are the ones Prof. Massey referred
to and the experiment station
men are the ones who aro paid to 5
teach them.
No one has answered my questiou G
as to what proportion of the crop
does the manure make and they f
can't. The idea, taking manure, the
very best fertilizer, aud mixing some ^
fertilizer with it. and then saying ^
the formula should have all the credit
for the crop. If you have enough f
9 manure, all you need is about 250
pounds acid pho^pbato and 50 pounds :3
a. potash to the acre, then if you want
" s to use the nitrate of soda appiy it I
as a top dressing when the crop is
up and started good, about 50 or ^
75 pounds to the acre. It is a good _
idea to haul in all the surf you can
if it costs you nothing but the work, 1
but if you want to gat humus in the
soil, tie quickest way is to grow 1

Ho that knows is Massey and he 1
is competent to tell any of us what
ts best. Let all have their name 1

you will surely find something that
