In Need of Immediate Attention
Editor Herald: I wish to call the
attention of t h .,so wcio.se duty it is
to look after the internal improvement
and the health of Conway to
tho comli tion of the sidewalks on
Upper Main .street. During aid after
each rein there are pools of water
in tho cent re thieeor four inches
deep and others so sandy that one
can hardly walk This is a very deplorable
state of alTairs, especially
so after so much money has been
spent for a nice little improvement.
But. let, us pass this as we
prefer to wade through these holes
and stumble over the broken brick
bats which some one has thrown on
the side walk, to that famous ditch
just back of the stores on Main
street and 3rd avenue. The condition
of this ditch is simply a disgrace
to say the least, and makes
uiio think that the Board of Health
is sudly at fault for permitting this
condition of alluirs, etpecially when
they have such an energotic Council
? a Council that has a rod letter
record for spending blocks of public
funds lor nice improvements, would,
I feci assured, furnish all the necessary
means that would be required
if their attention was only called to
this matter of public safety.
