Health of our town is very good
and the cool north breezes that we
have now and then makes us feel
like fall is right here?the time that
makes everybody feel better.
A few of the young folks went
dowu to Chorrv Grove Saturday
night for a moon-light drive on the
beach. The ones that went were
Mr Hendrick Bessent with Miss
Freddie Blum, Mr j. C. Gore with
Miss Bessie Livingston, Mr Tom
Bessent with Miss Pearl Blum, and
Mr Orbie Voreen with Miss Neva
McGiou, They also stopped at Mr
Nixon's and report a nice time.
Miss Mary Nixou, of Newborn,
N. C., is visiting her grand-mother,

J. C. Gore, of Floreuco, is home
on a visit.
Mrs Herbert Stone, of Wllmlng
ton, and two little daughters are
out. here on a visit.
Miss Annie St George, of South
port, is visiting her sister here.
Hendrusk Bossent is expecting to
return to Florida next week.
j. C. Blum is hauling the lumber
to build aud addition to his house.
Frank Abbott, who was called to
the death-bed of his mother at
Newbern, returned to his work at
the big mill last week.
Miss Nell Miles, of Marion is visiting
at the home of Dr Sloan.
Bob Russ and son, of Winston, N.
C., and Frank Russ, of Roland, visited
their sister, Mrs W. C. Gore
last week.

was held at Collins Creok church last
Friday and continuing through
Sunday, was received too late to appear
in our last issue; We are informed,
however,that the sessions of
this union were well attended, and
the meetings were interesting and
productive of much good.
It is whispered around sub rosa
that an active canvass has already,
or will shortly be commenced of
the county in the interest of a cotton
seed oil, the object of which, is
to secure subscriptions to the capital
stock of the proposed corporation.
If this be true then it is a
practical step in the right direction
and it is safe to say the mill is
an assured fact,
