THURSDAY, AUGUST 12, UIO!)
; lie Hoivy Tobacco Warehouse is]
being liberally patronized by the
tobacco growers ?jf this v'einity and
elsewhere. There is scarcely a day
go/>s by bat what all the large floor
space is not crowded with piles after
piles oi the golden weed. Manager
Bowles is certainly a hustler and
Capt Barber, the genial auctioneer,
is not a whit behind h'in in keeping
things humming. The very highest
mat ket j rices are always obtained.
Everybody within the corporate
limits r.f the. City of Conway should
cheerfully comply with the order of
Mayor Little in reference to cleaning
up their premises and cutting
down the weeds on the vacant lots.
Incase, however; no attention is.
given to the order, either through
negligence or refu al, the town authority
s should have the work done
and charge the eo t up to the property
owner
Canvassers should be appointed
by the Conway Board of Trade
to canvr - \ he <nio-ty in the interest
of th?.? cotton seed oil n ill. We
are co: liuent thai- little effort in
this dir. etion will produce great results.
If we ev( r expect to accomplish
anything in industrial development
\ v- must put our own hands to
the plov vnd use ot.r best endeavors
to work out our own destiny, If we
do this rucic^h is already assured.
_ The pole> ?.f inactivity has not yet
^ nor never will bear fruit and brings
only disappointment in tho end. So,
if we are in earnest concerning this
matter, if we want a cotton seed oil
mill established in Horry, and who
among us do not wish this, then we
must actively interest ourselves and
do what wo can to this end. With
active and energetic canvassers in
the field it would not be long before
the necessary capital would be subscribed
nnd tho plant installed.
The cause is worthy the effort and
it should be made.

Alfred Jenkins, the negro fiend

unto him in a dream and told

that with goulish glee tho brute related
