The health of the community in
generally good at this writing.
Crops are looking very well. People
are most through laying by.
Now for a few words about the
Sunday train. 1 have been reading
from the Herald and I see that some
are opposed to it and some are not
and will remain so. Some say it
is no more harm to go on the Sunday
train than it is to take a horse
and buggy and ride around, but
there is reason in all things. It is
harm for you or anybody else to
hi ch his horse or mule up and
drive him too hard, when you pay
your money to ride on the Sunday
train you are losing it and when
you get back home you will say 1
spent my money and it has done me
no good. Ah! friends, how would
you feel if some poor orphan child

for something to eat or for clothes
to put on and you had no maney or
anything to give them having spent
it all riding on tho Sunday train,
would you not feel like (lod was going
to bless you as long as you tha
way. Friends, it is something to
think about foryou to go against God
when he made you and will not listen
to his word. 1 will say that those
who have a clean heart, without spot
or stain, will not ride on the Sunday
train. Some ?ay it will cause some
to go to work harder. 1 know it
will cause them to go to work but it
will be for the devil and not for God
Friends, all have a soul to s>?ve or
eternally lose, and as one who loves
you all don't stop praying until you
have a clean, godly heart and then
you can see where your wrong is.
Oh! God, help them to see where
they are going, help them to see
wrong when they are spending their
money to ride on the Sunday train
and guide their money to some good

1 hope all will express their opinion
on this matter and let us see who
wants to do right and who don't.

We have no marriages to report

Will von please allow me space for
a few words from this place.
Health of the community is generally
good.
Our KMorida farmers, after laying
by their crops, are now talcing their
vacation.
I would like to say a word in regard
to the Sunday train. It is the
worst thing that ever came through
the county. Hod says six days shalt
thou labor and do all thy work. Hoys
if you are not pulling the throttle
your money is paying for it. If it
wasn't, for vnnr mrumv dm Snndni!
train would not run. There is no
(litTeronec in paying for your Sunday
work and doing it yourself.
God did not intend for us to seek after
Sunday pleasures. Lets not go
on the Sunday excursions? down the
broad road to destruction. Straight
and narrow is the way that leadeth
unto life and few that be that find
it. God says remember the Sabbath
day to keep it holy. Parents should
look after thoir children and on the
Sabbath day should take them to
Sunday school or preaching Parents
are at times to blame for the
faults of their children. Our young
folks should be engaged in church
work on the Sabbath day. God forbid
that any of our young boys and
girls should bo led astray by the
Sunday excursion train.

Mr Kerry ltaruliill Dead,
On March 30th, 1000, about 7 o'clock
in the evening the death angel
visited our home and took away our
dear father. Ho was one of Horry's
old veterans. It was hard to give
him up but the all wise God know
bost. He only lived about thirty
minutes after bein?jf stricken. Lot
us all bow in bumble submission to
the will of our heavenly Father. He
was about (15 years of a?^e. He joined
the Methodist church in early life
and lived a devoted member until
the end. May we all live as we
should for we all know that the ?^ood
book teaches us to be also ready for
in such an hour as you think not
the son of man cometh.
He was laid to rest on tho following
day at Kehoboth Methodist ]
church to await the judgment morn.
We mourn of course, but not as j
those who have no hope. Wo feel
our loss is her eternal tfa'n. Father
is y,one and a place is left vacant in
in home that never can be filled. Hut
we thank God for lotting him stay
with us so lon^. Tie was very feeble

Blessed are the dead who die in the
Lord. Father leaves a wife and

and relatives to mourn their loss.
