* A Sad Death
The death of Mr M M Woodbury,
vhich occurred on the morning of
\pril 6th, 1909, was a sad surprise
,o his family, his friends and hi,s
leighbors. His death was sudden,
le leaves a wife, seven children and
i host of relatives and friends to
nourn his untimely end, by whom
io w 11 be greatly missed. He was
lorn October 28. 18IS4 .ind rlnnsirtu/i
,his life April 6th. 1909, making his I
ige 54 years, 5 months and 9 days,
[lis remains were laid to rest in
VIt Olive graveyard and the funeral i
services were conducted by) the pastor,
Rev Sam Wilson. We hope he
s resting in the dear Lord, who
mows all things best.

Charged With Arson.
The Columbia State is authority
for the statement that Messrs P M
Lee, C F Kararow and two of Mr
Lee's clerks have been arrested and
lodged in the Williamsburg jail at
Kingstree on an indictment charginrv

recalled by many that Mr Lee purchased
the stock of goods from his
brother, Mr R L Lee, and moved
them to Scranton, Williamsburg co ,
and went into business for himself. ,
This has been a year or two ago.
Mr Lee's business prospered and our
information is that he carried a
large stock of general merchandise
b msequently a large insurance to
protect himself against damage or
loss by fire. Recently his store
bouse and contents were completely
consumed by fire, the origin of which
is shrouded in mystery. The circumstances
surrounding the fire
iroused suspecion of foul which led
to the arrest of the parties named
>n the charge of having set fire to
the store.
Mr Lee did business in Conway
'or a number of years, being the junior
in the mercantile firm of R L
Lee &Cot, and married a daughter
)f Mr Kamrow while residing here
Mr Kamrow also did business, being
ihe proprietor of tbe Conway Paror
Market. They both have a large ,
slide of friends and acquaintances
