Mrs Deitrick's nnork in Horry is
the beginning of a six week's engagement
by the South Carolina
W. C. T. U. and will make three
times she has visited the State within
a year. During her first visit,
last spring she so greatly pleased
her hearers at the places she spoke,
that she was the unanimous eho'co
of the program committee forspeakor
at the State convention at Hamburg
in September. Sho gave two
addresses at that meeting, speaking
both times to crowded houses.
Her rich store of facts and earnest i
array of arguments against the
evils of the liquor traffic convinced
the large audiences of the wisdom of
the selection of the committee.

Editor Herald-?1 feel glad that
I have the opportunity of saying a
few word in your valuable paper.
The health of the community is

dwelling here which adds very much
to the appearance of the place.
J. W. Ward is erecting a new h
building, which, when completed, L
will add very much to the appearance
to our little town.
Misses Delia and Leola Ward, of |
this place visited near Mill Branch I
in North Carolina last week. I
No woddings to report at present '
but look out in the near future,
Now, Mr Sheriff I want to ask you ,
one question, "When the jury hears
a case and returns to their room
can they have anything to eat or
drink before they decide on the case <.
no matter how long it takes them?" '
My school teacher and some of the i
pupils tried to argue to me that |
when the jury went into the room (
that they were locked up and could i
not get anything to oat or drink un (
til they decided, if it takes ,
them a week or more.'Mr Sheriff, (
please answer. Gnap. <
