In Lovlnir Memory.
Eittle Alice L. Todd passed
through the valley of the shadow
of death. May 30th, 1908 in the 6th
year of her life.
In the midst of life we are in death.
With a ruthless hand, death cuts
down the young as well as the old.
How sad that one so lovely and so
full of bright promises as this sweet
little darling should meet with an
untimely end. That dreaded typhoid .
fever claimed her in early life and an
affectionate ohild sho was. Mer
mind and heart were such that ]
makes one universally beloved. In '
times of sorrow as well as in times !
of iov. she was III w:iv? t.hn enmn 1
loving little one. IIow delighted
she was when an act of kindness on
her part lessened the grief or distress
of her loved ones.
Little Alice was the idol of home,
but God willed that she must go
and his ways are shrouded in deep- esi
mistery. Farewell, my darling
child. To a brighter world thou has <
gone whero there is no death, no
sorrow, no tears. Through all the
changes of time we shall miss thee,
but from our hearts thy sweet mem- 1
ory shall never depart.
Glorious sunbeams always kiss J
the soil that covers thy last resting
place, and through the encircling
gloom of night may bright stars
shine, keeping their lonely \irgilk

It comes to me out of the past,
With tones so soft and mild;
The echo of a loving voice,
The prattle of my child.
Lisping her simple words, 1
Or singing a song sublime; ' 1
I seem to hear her childish tones,
Across the wasto of time. '
When my days are all ended, i
And Ira called to go,
May I meet my sweet Alice,
On Canaan's bright shore.
