Editor: When I answered the
questions asked by Mr LeRoy Prince
sometime ago on the stock law, I did
not expect to get into a controversy
but it seems that Mr Prince oould
not reasonably condemn the answers
so he went in search of help, and after
a careful search of two weeks he
found the desired help in the person
of a backwoods Ray Fox. So the
Prince said to the Fox Civis's answer
arnt to my liking, so the Fox
was a good, kindly kind of a fox,
and agrees to reply to Civis. So be
asked for space to correct some errors
made by Civis. The poor ignorant
quadruped first explains that a
botched or cobbled up fence is a
glass one and can bo bought at a
drug store. Well, I will not question
his assertion, as I have not
studied a fox's catalogue or visited
a fox's drug store, Mr Ray Fox
next says he thought wo lived in a
free country, therefore, what one
man owned was free to all. Now,
Mr Fox, if you believe that you
go to the banks of Conway and run
your delicate paw through the scuttle
hole and get you a wad and start
otT and you will soon lind out that
what belongs to one man is not free
to all, for you will soon be peeping
through the bars of tho cell instead
ot bramble. He says also he splits
rails with elbow grease. I thought
they were split with maul and wedge

the stock law. I have never
written to a county paper in all my
life of 47 year* .
I notice each week that somebody
is writing favoring the no fence law
and some oppose it, and I will add
right here that f am not in favor ol
it. I have been in other counties
whore they have the no fence law
and the people say they have tc
come over in our county to buy the
razor back hogs to have pork. They
say the rich man is getting richer
and the poor man poorer. I am not
a no fence law man neither do I exfoct
to live under it. This is whal
have seen in the counties where 1
have been, tjie poor hogs shut up ir
pens and periling to death. I have
seen this with my own eyes and the
poor cows in tho summer looked like
they do hero in winter and I know
