R^ijrln of the Expression.
Editor Horry Herald: I noticed in
last week's issue of your paper an
article headed "O Ye/.! O Ye/.!" 1 i
have taken the pains to look up the '
origin of tho expression and find t
that "O Ye/.!" means: "Attention! i
ye people, news from the kiu^r!" It \
came from the French, and was re- I
tained by the English after the Nor- i
man invasion. It is now of import- '.
ance in this country that a judtf- i
meut in court is said to bo wortli
nothing without it.

Mr Kditor: Please allow me space
space in your valuable paper for a
few lines from Floyds.
The farmers keep hauling their cobacco.
Cotton picking is the order of the
day.
Cotton is not bringing a good price
now, but if the farmers will all come
together and stand firm in their demand
foj? 10 or 15 cents cotton,
whatever thev may agree upon, thev
will get the price ihey demand, But
just as long as they get scared and
sell below the cost of production
just so long will thev be at the mor
cy of gabblers and speculators.
There is not much sickness to report.
Mr M N Blanton Sr., and wife
were the guests of Mercelous Blanton
last Sunday.
Mr Boyd Blanton and Miss Attie
r Roberts spent last Sunday with

The school is expected to begin at

Wishing the newly nominated officers
and the Horry Herald and its
readers much joy and success, I will

I think it is time for the good peoplo
