Conway, S. C.
Dear Sir: ?
Referring to a report being eircu
lated against you to the etteet that
the committee of the (Jrand Jury
investigating your accounts had re
ported that you had misappropriated
funds, wish to say that I, as a member
of the committee, think that our
report on these matters is so clear
that the subject could not be misunderstood
by any one giving care
iui attention to the text of the* repot
t.
The commit too in that report, did
not make any charge o f misap'prop
rialion or shortage of funds, hut
emphasized the fact that receipts
for funds which the books indicated
had been paid out should al ways be
in the ollice. Yours respectfully,
V A MJRIiOlKilfS.

The health of the community is
very good.
People are having plenty of rain
and good crops.
Tobacco curing will soon begin.
There was a fish fry given at
Hughes handing on Hi tile IVe Deo,
June hlli, Mr and Mrs W II Cannon,
of Conway, attended the fish fry and
report a plenty of fish, bread, cake,
pies, to spare and every one ate all
lie could and several boxes and bas

plenty of music furnished by Messrs

by not being there, I wonder whore
they were? Cone fishing, I guess.

Should Know How to ItcMst It.
The backaches because the kidneys

Help the kidneys with their work
The back will ache no more.
Lots of proof that Doan's Kidney
Pills do this.
Mrs Henry Farley, First Ave,
Dillon, S C says; "My back ached
contantly and I could not assume
position that was comfortable. A1
night 1 was constantly tossing and
turning on account of the severe
pains and mornings would arise
feeling very lame and tired, M\
kidneys caused the additional annoyance,
owing to thoir frequent action
Having heard so much about Doan's
Kidney Pills. 1 concluded to try
them; other remedies having failed
to give me any relief, 1 procured a
a supply and taking them as directed
and received relief almost at once.
Since using them 1 have had no
backaches, the kidneys have been
regular in action and I have been
able to obtain my rest at night , I
feel very grateful to Doan's Kidney

The farmers aro making good use
of these fair days. It has been a bad

this section on account of insects.
Tobacco curing will soon boon hand.
Tobacco is sorry this time. It has
but toned out small and is nearly a
failure.
Marvin Uooth happened to a serious
accident recently by his mule
running away and breaking his leg.
Tho young men of this community
socio to have bad luck by accidents.
It has not been but a short time
since Hro ky Dormau was killed by

Cool Spring
The health of our people is very
good at present.
Crops are improving*.
Since it. luis been so warm the insects
have been playing havoc with
the corn in the bottom lands.
A good many went to Conway Friday
on the excursion from hero and
t he crowd was very quite and orderly,
and with few exceptions very
good looking. We don't think there
was very much booze on hand, but
wo a''e told some was lost by mis
take. Wo think it would ho well on
such occasions to label bottles in
plain letters, "Class handle with
Care." We had one candidate aboard
and he did not lose much time in
shaking hands with the boys. We
would like to boost some of the. boys
but we dont think it f.or to the other
candidates who have paid tbcir money
Our people are too busy to visit
much now, farmer.
