V INcxt door to Norton Drujr Company. h We ask all Aho read this to mention the fact when they call on us "How Did You Start?" What are you doing for education? Sav teacher, have you tried to improve your school possessions and ' methods of t raining the young mind? Have you yet learned how to meet oil the responsibilities of your great calling? Have you yet learned how to overcome nil the difficulties that i present themselves to us as teacher? Have you visited all your patrons ami found out their aim as to the intentious of the best effort along the line of education? Fellow teachers, there are many things, that we, who are trying to instruct the youths of the land are yet to overcome. There has never been a man yet who could make everybody see a thing exactly alike. So people are different in opinion < when they are touched on the subject of education. Early impressions are certainly the most lasting ( and if parents could realize this, 1 and that most children aro observing their parents closely, they would realize how important it is that their 1 iutluence should ouly be for good. Teach by example, as well as pre- , opt to live the true life. It is so hard for the teacher to reach the child whose home life and homo touching contradict overy in/xt?4 h ir i/l/w\ 1 f t ?w 1 ?\r\K)/v t K / f I ?Ul UIV lUlfttl auu UUUIC kllUU^III. Most small children think their parents perfect and try to iinitato them in everything. We never know when a word or deed will last as long as their life lasts. The dying man broathea the prayer learned at mother's knee and sings the son# that mother sang, though many years and many miles separate him from the gray-haired mother and her teachings. Parents teach your child to do right by your own acts that the right way is best and he will receive his own reward. Primary teacher, I think the teacher's morals should be considered first, let other qualifications conic afterwards. This seems an age of carelessness in regard to virture and morals, and we teachors must watch our pupils and try to overcome evil in whatever guise it may appear, j Also teach them to watch their morals, for, "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh." No one's lotter is always an index to character. I wish it was. Yet a judge of human nature, after a few ; letters have been passed, can read! between the lines and judge something of the character of the writer. 1 hope to hear fromothers through the Herald how much they are interested in education and Christianity.
