Mr. Editor: If yon will allow mo
spaco in your valuable paper I would
like to say a few things concerning
the newly organized church at Sweet
Water branch. Perhaps it would be i
of some interest to some of your
readers to know that there has been
a Baptist church organized at Sweet
Wat'.-r branch. About eight months
ago Kev. 11. G. Fowler was called
to that community by some of the
brethren there to preach. Lie accepted
the invitation and at once began
monthly meetings at Sweet Water
branch at what was once a
lloarishing church but owing to doc
t. inul differences the church had become
extinct. When Brother Fowler
began to preach at that place
.10 tound the comnunity terribly
co .fused, xhere were some holiness
Methodist, Mental Healers and a
few Missionary Baptist. There
seemed to be same interest manifested
at the very beginning of his
i ontlily visits and the interest continued
to grow until some of the
orethren and sisters became anxious
for a church to be organized and on
Saturday before the 4th Sunday in
October a council was called consisting
of Kev. Asa West, Rev. 11. G.
Fowler, Deacon S. D. Todd and this
writer. We uroceded to organize
by testing their faith in Christ and
afterward organized them into a
church consisting of fourteen members,
and on the 4th Sunday Rev. H. ;
G Fowler baptised four and two

been my privilege to be with the
brethren on two occasions. I found
old 13ro. Day ut tlie head of the
Sabbath school, which he had tried to
keep up during the time the church
was disbanded. I certainly enjoyed
the kindness shown me by those
people and I do feel grateful that
they have a church at Sweet Water
Their kind regards shown ine will be
long remembered. Oh! may the
church continue to thrive and may
the people, one and ail, strive to be
more united. May he who is able
keep them in the stru'ght and narrow
