Thinks Spivoy is with him

claims their platform is the same.
Stanley will not tell were he stands
but claims to lie a prohibitionist.
Tones is a preacher and has said lie
had as soon die by a whiskey ba *rel
as by the sword. Cook is a straii/ht
whiskey man. Derham is a true
dispensary man. lie discussed the

published platform, picturing the
horrors of whiskey drinking. If the
people think he is 1hc proper man to
represent them ho will appreciate

said when ho first came out some
thought he could fill the place of
both members, but now there were
six out for the oilier place. Favors
more and better schools; better roads
equal taxation. Opposes the no
fence law. Favors a State dispensay
in incorporated towns, is himself a

want tho money from the dispensary
to to the Schools, put it on
the court house and jail bonds.
Should all who take a drink vote for
him he will be elected.

Mr. Spivcy was the first candidate
to bo cheered by thoerowd.and they
continued to cheer him at short intervals
during his entire speech.
Mr. Spivcy said ho would not make
his usual speech, but it had boon
published in full in the county papers.
Had only recently learned that it
was a sin to issue an address to the
people. Same of the other candidates
hud published their platform
in tho papers, and others would have
done so probably if they had felt
able to prepare one. Mr. Spivcy
said he would cut out most of his
Spcoch, but would discuss the two
issues or matters which seemed to

of his published address. He explained
his work on the otate dispensary
investigating committee,
which had been criticised by Mr.
Cook. Also explained fully the court
house and iail matter. Took Mr.
Cook to task for his inconsistencies
on this matter and paid his respects
to Mr. Stanley . Explained the tobacco
warehouse charges.

most of the crowd hadn't so
would take up but a few minutes.
Tie had no apologies to make for being
in the race. Was on the town- *
ship, county and State boards of <
equalization and explained in detail
the work of these boards in Irving *
to equalize the property of the county,
of tho failure of the other counties
to increase their valuation and
a conscqucnt reduction by the State
board as to this county. Says ho is
opposed to the no fence law. Favors
pensions for Confederate veterans.

him in this race he will assure

W. A PRINCE
said he was in the race two years ]

elected this time.
Next came the candidates for Probate
Judge.
P. M. JOHNSON c
said he would not attempt to make
a sj>eecb but will appreciate their
votes on the 28.
W. N. (1EURALI)
said it was a pleasure to meot this
audience. Felt he was qualified to
disahar^e the duties of the office.

said he had no public record now 7
but expect to have one four years
from now.
