THE HORRY HERALD, Thursday August 9 1906. Pleasant Meadow Dots. We are very busy in the grass yet, but wo are looking for old man White to come along in the near future and help us out. Wo are still curing tobacco. We will get through after awhile. We are still having rain, rain right on, but we are looking for a dry sj)cll in the future. Health is not very good in this section now. One of the young daughters if Mr. J. P. Pridgoon, Ellen has been very ill with fever for a few days last week, but she is improving nicely now under the treatment of a skilled physician. The eldest daughter of Mr. J. C. Grainger is very ill with fever, but is improving somewhat. Mrs Isadore Pridgeon isalso quite ill, but is doiug us well as could be expected. Misses Helen and Ida Causey are still on the road to improvement. We hope all the sick will soon vecover. We will expect preaching services at Pleasant Meadow next Sunday, afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. II G. Fowler will officiate. All are Invited to attend. We hope to have good services. There are no weddings to report but tin1 indications aio that there soon will be some. As I haven't seen anything from Justice in so long a time, 1 will give you just a little idea how things are progressing hero. Crops are very good considering the amount of rain we have had for the past few weeks. Health of this community is very good at this writing. Tobacco is selling at fairly good prices considering the grade. Cotton is much better than it was thought it would be when the rains continued so long. Mrs. Ij. Addie Jones has returned to her family at Defewiaek Springs, Fla , after spending several weeks wim relatives in tins section. Miss Clyde McQueen has been visiting friends and relatives in this place. She returned to her home at Lor is some days ago. Miss Julia McQueen . is visiting friends here. W. Boyd Jones was seen early Sunday morning on routo to Marlon to spend the day. The Pleasant Meadow correspondent is under the impression that grass seeds can be had from thatsec1 tion very cheap^for next year. If this been true, 1 would like to engage soveral bushels as 1 will have to plant before I can get any more, for what was not destroyed by cultivation has been v ashed away, roots, seeds and all.
