Down in Conway a few days ago some follow, styling liimsolf "An Interested Citizen," made an attempt ' to boost his "favorite" for thosonate in opposition to Mr. Tillman, and in doing so, allowed his prejudice for the senator to get so much the better of his good judgment, or sense, d he ' is guilty of possessing such, as to make an ignoramous of himself. ' The "boost" came in the nature of a 1 communication to the Columbia State and the statements therein were the 1 most foolish rambling and ridiculously absurd that have come under the 1 observing eye of the writer in ^nin tune, 'mere is little hi the article 1 to indicate that the writer is informed upon his subject or has the slightest insight into the political alTairs of this State. On tin* other hand, it is plainly evident that lie is the , oflicial correspondent, high-niuckymucl<, and enjoying the plenipotentiary, prerogative of being the high and exalted, specially appointed and , exclusive, chief, squeeze penpusher , of a gang of Tilhnun.lighters in his , two-by-four neck o'-thc- words. The fact is this follow deserves sympathy, and wc want to oiler the same in the suggestion that he at once take a course under a brain-food specialist. However, this statement, or others similar, will hardly belittle Senator Tillman, in the estimation of the people or injure him in his campaign foa re-election. II.
