Mrs. Cclia Ann Coats was born in
Marion county, S. C iti the month
>f oeptember, 1800, and departed
his life at her home near Blanche in
lorry county, oi: May 10, 1900. She
oined the Pleasant Grove Baptist
ihurch in 1883 and remain a mem)er

Celia was always a kind friend, a
levoted wife and a loving mother.
She was a grand and noble Christan.
She was adojvted in the family
>f Hugh Price in Marion county in
he early pare of her life. Mr. Price

vas reared to live and die for Jesus.
For manv weary days she was a
offerer with but little hope of re-1

I am informed that a Mormon Rider
attacked the postmaster at
Bruce. Angry words wore followed
by an assault and the battle
raged tierce and hou for a while but
no serious damage was done. It
seems that the Rider became angry
about being charged with lying in
his doctrine. But would it not have
been much better to have taken God's
book as a weapon to prove his testimony
than to have used man's muscles
as he did?
Our Rldorado merchants arc doing
a lively business. They sell

It seems that Debo has failed to
send in the news born this section.
Several of the you no jieople attended
the picnic at Strickland
Ford on June 2nd. It was an enjoyable
occasion for a*! who were
there to hear so many of tin; candidates
speak in favor of the dispensary,
which would have been a nuisance
had it been in Conway.
I would thank some one to tell me
what has become of the Joiner
Swamp public school. We had a
good school there in the fall and
winter of 1904-5, which closed
about March 10th, 1005. A contract
for a new school house was let out
last fall, but this was an end to the
talk in tin; interest of the school,
so I would thank Mr. Host or some
other friend to give their views
about the same. 1 think that envy
among the people of the district has
oeen the cause of such. Shall wo
have education and j^ood religion or
envy, ignorance and no school?
