Asleep Iti Jesus.
Editor Herald: Aliow me space in
your columns to announce the death
of Mrs. Kosa A. the wife of E.
Todd formerly of your county. Mrs.
Todd moved to Georgia in-18110 aud
the writer has been well acquainted
with the family since January, 1892,
in fact intimately so. Mrs. Todd
was not quite 40 years old when she
coed. the 24th day of January, 1900.
She was the daughter of James
Duncan of Horry county. She was
the mother of nine living children,
live of them married and four unmarried.
The youngest child is nine
years old. She was a faithful member
of Ueedy Branch Baptist church.
She was a loving, kind and devoted
mother; a loyal aud affectionate wife
in the truest souse that that endearing
term conveys, for she was indeed
t true helpmeet and companion to
lier husband and, too, she was a
?ood neighbor ever ready aud willing
to share the sorrows as well as the
joys of those with whom she came
in contact in her daily life. Mrs.
Todd was in apparent good health
tne morning she was stricken with
that dreaded malady?paralysis.
She had started to make preparations
for the noon meal when she received
the shock of the stroke. She called
W?r rl'1 I w rl . ? 1
muu^ihui iu uuiiil* uiiu assist nor
to get to bed, which she did, but
Mrs. Todd never spoke again seetnng
to remain unconscious until the
*nd came. The next morning, justibout
24 hours from the time she
vas stricken. While Cod in his
ivisdom saw proper to sulTer her to
je taken from her family and friends
et in Lis merciful providence sh?*
vas not allowed to undergo much
iUtVering and we are glad to believe
hut we can say tha*. today she has
ound an abiding rest in the spirit
and beyond where it is possible for
ler loved ones and friends to join
ler in the sweet bye and bye where
h re will be no more sickness, no
nore sad partings and no more
leath, and wo would sav to the
bereaved husband and children, aim
o all her relatives and friends thai
he great Cod of love wills that this
ihalt be the case with all who would
tnd do truly seek to enter that land
)f peace and rest. Lot this thought
joinfort us all. Very respectfully.
