ALL Till: EURNITURE OF PINK
EDGE LOST BY EIRE
I
Tlic Origin of the Eire is Unknown
and the Eamily Were Awakened
Barely in Time to Escape With
Their Lives. There was no Insurance
on the Property.
The <twelling house and kilchen of
Pink Edge in the Maple section were
totally destroyed by fire on last
Wednesday night. All of the household
furniture was lost in flames,
but the furn'ture in the kitchen was
saved. k
The eauR of the fire is entirely
unknown and is liKelv to remain a 1
mystery. Some of the family were
awakened about I o'clock in the
morning by the roar of the flames,
and there was hardly time for them
to get out with their lives. The
home was beautifully situated but 1
the place had a very forlorn appearance
next day after tin fire.
The loss is placed at irom $500.00
to $1000 00, and there was no in- '
suranee.

aver here. Organization! Hvery

for their protection! And last but
not least, the farmers. The farmer
has learned his lesson late, but well
and once for all. 1 quote from the
Progressive Farmer, Raleigh, 25,

among men. The Greek phajutix
marched to a thousand victories
against overpowering foes in the
first material syndicate of war. The
Tenth Lotion of Ccasar won by the
samo co-operative discipline that has
made the martial prowess of the
British Square. The solid swift coherency
of Stonewall Jack son's corps
has given impress to every succeeding
battlefield and has found its culmination
in the incomparable organization
of the armies of Japan.
Upon the battlefields of trade it is
the coherent plan, the organized cooperation,
which has builded every
syndicate and bloated every trust
with power. The religious world
wins its wars with sin as its followers
are organized and loyal to each
other. The farmer's cause is righteous
and his position is serene.
The Southern farmer makes the cotton
of the world."
When our beautiful Southland was
mired in war we witnessed the fact
that England, Ind:a, Brazil and
Liussia came against it with determined
energy and tried to steal the
jotton industry from our soil. Failore
was the result and the South's
jupremacy was acknowleged.
This scribe, young as he is, well
remembers when cotton sold at 4J
lents and the manufacturer did not
iclp to raise the price. But the
'armors began to organize and hold
.heir cotton for 10 cents and they
.jot it
The manufacturers now say they
must have 21 cents for yarn. Why
tot the farmers demand 15 cents for
.heir cotton. The doctor names his
irico when his skill is administered.
