cotton from sixteen acres.
The farmers were blessed with a
good crop the past year. Ninety- I

As a farmer his labors have been
crowned with success, lie entered
the tobacco culture in the front
ranks, and was the lirst man to raise
a barn in his section of the county,
and has load in raising the finest
quabty and obtaining the best prices
for the Vaf, being often, called on
for his judgment from the plant bed
to the warehouse floor, We also regret
very much the loss of the family.
Mrs. Johnson is a very good woman
in sickness as she always carries the
oil and the wine. She is also a very
oflieient Sunday school worker.
May their children, three little
girls and two bovs, rapidly advance
in their books and all efforts lie

weather at present.
II. I). Tyler and wire are visiting
at W. II. Hell's, near this ])laco.
There was a fruit supper at \V.
. II. Bell's on December 2drd. A
large crowd attended and reported
a very pleasant time.
J. M. Wattors and VVm. Brown
were visiting friends and relatives
of this section recently.
Frank Hammond, the mail carrier,
happened to a bad accident by his
mule falling in the ditch between
Blanche and Bay boro and they had
to dig the mule out. His wounds
are not serious.
Several of the boys of this section
are talking of going to Saga no, Fla.
S. G. Cartrett was visiting his
mother in the Adrian section during
the holidays.
J.W. Prince has returned home
from a trip in North Carolina.
Misses Culbreth Boll and Hurley
Prince were visitors in the Gorshom
section last Sunday.
