litis been in promts of moving
a tusk that is indeed no sintill thing
with any newspaper. Preparations
were started for the removal a week
or more uheud, and the machinery
was not torn down until last week
It was all moved away from the old
quarters on ttrd avenue in the Kin*/
Block to the ne.v mom which hud
been fitted up for the paper on Main
street. This issue of the paper
goes out from the new building.
At first it w is thought it vould
he necessary to miss t he issue of this
week on account of getting the
press in good shape, hut the force
had better luck than they expected,
and the paper comes out this week.
though it is not in its usual eight
page form. Only four pages con hi
he issued this week enough to carry
all the local news. After this week
its subscribers may look for the paper
in its usual form and on time
as it has always been.
During the two or three weeks
that have been taken up with
moving, many e( mmunioat ions and
correspondents' letters had to he left
out for the reason that there was
no time to put them in type. The
management is sorry that those letters
had to be left out, as many of
them were interesting and well worth
publication. We can only say that
from now on, the Herald hopes to
he able to handle them all every
week, and greater efforts than ever
before will be made to give the people
a good county piper during the
new year.
During the nnny years of the
Ilerold's existence it has never he
fore owned its own building. It. has
always been on the move from lirsl
one building in the town to another,
this last is the third time it has h;u
to move since it has belonged to it.

necessary. It is said .that it doe
not take many removals to be worsi
than a lire, and the saying hold
truo especially in regard to a news
paper. For a newspaper plant a re
moval is a very costly and tryini
experience. In its new quarters, th
Herald desires more than over th
help of its correspondonts and othe
friends in getting in the county
news. It extends thanks to all thosi
who have aided it in the past wit I
the promise that every effort will bi
made to merit a contiuuenoe ol
these favors in the future.

The farmers as a rule are in bettei
condition financially than they have
been for many years past. The Herald
wishes them all a happy New
Year, one that will be a prosperous
as the one now about to close.

many more new enterprises added t.n
the industiial development of Conway.
A ik vv lumber plant is being
talked about, and new tailroads in
several sections of the county, are
being pushed forward to completion.
