of the bar of cases which will be

the court, and there will be fourteen

It is different in Horry now davs
since the era of prosperity and
growth struck the town and the
county. Short courts used to be
more than sufiicient to dispose of the
business. A lar^e new court house
and longer and more frequent, terms
are needed now. and some change
will have to he made.

Groundless Complaint.
? Wo are requestd by Mr. W. K.
Holt, the now Country Supervisor
say that some complaints recen tly
made in reference to the blood
hounds used in the recent trouble at
Cool Sping, are groundless. It
-seems that it was reported that the
blood hounds had been purchased
by Mr. Holt at the expense of the
county, but the fact is that two of
the hounds were purchased by Mr.
Holt with his own private funds some
time before he went into ollice.
He had purchased them and Edmonds
from whom he bought them
came down to deliver them at the
time of the occurrence at Cool
Spring. The two hounds are the
personal property of Mr. Holt and
he freely gave the use of them to
the county in an atempt to ferret
out the perpetrators of the shooting
at Cool Spring.
