The rottenness in the dispensary brought out by the investigating committee seems to be too much for our people. Mr Z. T Green who lives on the road between here and Conway says he knows but very few who will vote for the dispensary There is not a man living pi a mile of this town who will vote for the dispensary. Mrs. H. 11. Woodward and children of Conway is visiting relatives here. There is considerable talk about the lioyd, Mishoc mule deal. We should withhold comment until they have an opportunity to explain to the people. We do not believe that the county will lose a ry thing by those gentlemen. There was quite a number of people who went to Conway Thursday to hear the Johnson, Grainger trial and came away disgusted, saying, that t hey could not get in the court house. It seems that we must either build a new court house and jail, or rent the Horry Tobacco Warehouse from Col. I). A, Spivey and hold court there. It takes energetic men with progressive ideas to keep a town bloomThe new town council lills the bill exactly. With Thompson and Little members of council something will be doing. Now for the the town hall. Forecast. l avors New Court House. In tin; last few years the public roads of our county have received marked attention. ^The by paths have been converted into public highways. (lood comfortable school houses have been built in many places and new and better churches are seen on every hand. The farms are better cultivated and are producing better results, and it is said that the whole county in a prosperous condition. I notice that man v brick build I ings arc Hearing completion in Con way, but what about the court house? It is the same old building too small to admit standing room. If 1 knew that it was proper, I would suggest to the Legislature to take the matter in hand and so cure an appropriation sullicient to build a comfortable court house, well we would need a jail, yes, and lot's have the court house and jail so that when we have business in court we can get a seat and be com fortable. Don't let's wait till we all get rich and have money to spare, but let's build it now and pay for it later. All keenly felt the need of such a house last week, B. b\ Graham. Blanche, S.
