Kditor Ilcrald:?In some sections >f our county there is considerable jonfusion and complaint amon^ our oad hands about the road law and ibout the work, and as to how the aw would deal with them, were it put to a test under certain circumstances, and as to road duties etc. There are places where there is great jonfusion caused by not dealing openly and plainly with hands, as all business matters should be dealt with. Now there are reasons in matters that would cause men who wish to icconunodate or favor and deal reasonably with men which alter cases sometimes out when men get to where they will not deal or be dealt with to that effect, why not deal just as the aw will allow? There are some men who think themselves smart, who venture to say that our county Supervisor docs not know the road law. VVel) if he does not, holding the position which ho does, and having the opportunity to read the law, 1 don't mderstand why it should be so faniliar to people who never read or leur it read. Hut however, Mr. Supervisor, if /on do know it, please answer a few picstions just here. Suppose I warn a man to work the public road and on the day appoint;d he claimed to be sick. Then layng reason and favors and common judgment aside, will the law clear dm? If not, aud 1 lay off a task for bin, can 1 force him todo that work without going and standing by him? Jr could I do it by standing by him? If a hand take the privilege to till jp a hole or cut a few brush, or a log put of the road without authority roin the overseer and then claim a lay for ten to twenty minutes work, when he was not notified todo >o, would tin? road law justify him in t? When a man who has not paid any Muiiiiuiuiioii lax, aiKi is appointed is overseer on a road; and lie goes m with his hands, and takes the ( irivilege to work, can he put in a lill against the countv for work and Iraw a salary to pay liim for his time when he is in law hound to be there md work if he chooses or do as he , ikes? How is it that this can be lone? It is reported that such has , leen done. If you commission a man to call out lands and work a road for a term of | two years, and afterwards see that t is best to make a change and comnission another man, and the papers irst issued are not taken b .ck, which , A'ill hold, first, last, or both? Some roads are crowded out with ( ncn, other roads have not enough ( oen to keep them up, please j itraightee up these matters, and }rin?,' a little road law before the Tiiblie, or take my road commission rom me and let me work as a hand. , H. Conway Drue Co., the enterprising druggists, rather than await the ordinary methods of introduction, urged the Dr. Howard Co.; to secure aquick sale for their celebrated specific for the cure of constipation and dyspoi sia by offering the regular 50c bottle at half-price. The wonderful success of this plan was a great surprise even to Conway Drug Co , and today t lie re are scores of people here in Conway who are using and praising this remarkable remedy. So much, talk has been caused by this oiler, and so many new friends have been made for the specific, that Dr. Howard Co. have authorized the Conway Drug Co. to continue this special half-price sale for i limited time longer. In addition to selling a 50c bottle _ ;>f Dr. Howard's specific for 25c, Conway Drug Co. has so much faith in the remedy that thev will refund the money to anyone whom it does not cure.
