The health of thi.s section is *{ood
at this time, no serious sickness to
report.
The rain falls nearly every day
and the # rass keeps on growing.
The farmers are fighting it for dear
life, trying to keep it down.
Crops are looking well considering ,
the wet weather. Cotton in low
places is not doing well Every
body crying out '"grass, and can't
get no help to kill it."
The Kov. Allen McFarland preached
at Tilly Swamp on Saturday night
last loan attentive congregation.
The children's day at Salem on
Sunday was altogether a success.
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Johnson of Gra
luitnville, deserves great credit in
getting up the program for the day,
and the children also for the manner
in which they acquitted themselves
in delivering their speeches There
was a very large gathering and the
b( lmviour ol the crowd was an exception.
All seemed to enjoy the
occasion very much. There were ,
several visitors who delivered line ]
speeches, among the visitors were 1
