Help Por Wornout Minister.
The people around 3uck Crook
made up last week, a two mule
wagon load of supplies and carried
them to tho Rev. P. Milligan, one
of our wornout ministers, who has
worn himself out in the service and
is now unable to help himself. This
was a deed of charity which others
might follow.

On# of the most pleasant entertainments
in the uaturc of a school
commencement took place at the
residence of Mrs. Nettie G. Holliday
last Tuesday evening, March twenty
first. The appreciative audience
consisted of a few friends especially
invited to witness the lirst public
performance of the five pupils, assisted
by Messrs. L\ M. Coleman, John
H Atkinson, and Geo. J. Holliday.
Uudcr the direction of their teacher,
Miss Laura tt. Davant, of Pendleton,
S. C., the performance would
nave done credit to a larger school,
and more advanced pupils.
A stage was artistically erected
in the rear of the hall, divided from
the main hall by curtains. As the
guests were iuvitc 1 from the sitting
room into the hall, an appropriate
- election was rendered by Mrs. Geo.
J. Holliday upon the sweet-toned
niano. Then for an hour and
i half the following programme held
uho audience captive.
There was music, vocal and instrumental;
dialogues and reeitaions,
ludicrious and sad; tableaux,
artistic and beautiful.

will take a census of tho town,
showing the exact population, with
the sex, age and color, showing the
number of dogs owned by citizens,
and making a record of those who
have been successfully vaccinated.
There are many who would like to
know tho exact population of Conway.
The last census, made before
the era of progress struck the town,
shows some seven hundred inhabitants
ant1 these arc the only figures
we have until the new census is taken.
Since tho last census the population
has doubled many times over
and the figures made by Mr McMillan
will show a marvellous growth in
our numbers.

On Sunday March 12th, Miss Irene
Gordon of Georgetown was married
to Mr. E. Van Anderson, formerly

is a rising young man who holds an

has mary friends in Horry, his
