Nicholas, which he is having built on the vacant lot near his present residence will soon he completed. V. G. Andors m is the contractor. ? Douglas Waller, little son of Mr, and Mrs J. L Waller, was seriously burned last Thursday, his clothes catching on hro from the lire place. His injuries were very painful but hd was standing them well at last accounts. ?Alex Johnson and Nolloy Johnson were arraigned in Judge J. N. .Tenrett's court last Saturday charged with larceny. Mr. Harrelson has been very faithful in the discharge of his duties not missing a monthly meeting of his board sinco he was in office. ?The next at tract W/j offered by the lyceum hero will bo tho best. M. P. Hunt is a lecturer of wide reputation and it will pay you to hoar him on tho evoning of February 14th at the Burroughs graded sohool. Tho entertainment opens at 8 o'clock. ?The sleet which began to fall on last Friday evening continued to fall through the night, and on Saturday .norning the ground was covered with a white coating. There was some snow at intervals through tho day on Saturday. The weather was very cold, and dark clouds ob scijred the sun all day. Tho snow bo gan to, melt qn Monday. ?Tboro was a mistake^u'our last issue in an editorial note in reference to tho erection of the now school building. The way one of the son'j tences appeared in the editorial it would be implied that the town counOil was responsible for tho raising of tho funds for this enterprise as well as tho Issue of bonds for the internal improvements. It appeared differently from the way it was intended. As everyone knows that the town council has nothing to do with tho erection of tho school building, but that this belongs to tho board of trustees. ?D. N. Floyd, an Horry boy who is doing well in Florida, will leave poon for his home after spending a week at his former home, near Gideon S C., looking after tho interests of his brothers and sisters left orphans by the recent death of their father, Fred Floyd. Mr. Floyd has a responsible and lucrative po sltion with the W. B. Mackinson Oorapany bf Kissomee, Fla. This concern packs and -ships Florida fruits on h large scale. A. P Johnson's. i 9 mm ? ?Last week the town tried the case against W. M. Parker for violation of the town ordinance relating to vaccination. The ordinance required everybody in town to be vaccinated, but Mr. Parker and some others declared that they would not be vaccinated. When first cited be for* the Mayor early last week, C. J. Vereen who w"s alsocharged with a violation of the ordinance, was excused on the certificate of a physician. Mr. Parker's certificate was not accepted and ho demanded a trial by jury lie was tried a day or mu iiirnviini ov me jury and was foilnd guilty and sentenced to confinement for thirty days He at once employed Ford 1). Bryant Esq.-, of the Marion bar to represent him and the attorney has appealed his ease to the court of General Se. sions. ? ????magg}- . Another INcw Building:. The material has been ordered b\ Contractor II. F. Little for the erection of another brick store building on Main street for Hal L. Huck Co.. next door to t he lurge store which that corporation now occupies. The building will be one story in height, and will measure. 30 x 70 feet. It is not thought that the building will be for rent but will be used in connection with the present business in the larger building Cnujttit Stealing: a Coat. Two small negro boys were arrested last week under a warrant sworn out by J. C. Spivoy, charging them stealing a coat from Spivey Mercantile Co. Mr. Spivey had been noticing for some timo that a certain window in the waroroom was left unhooked and thero were other circumstances which led him to believe that some one was entering the building every few nights for the purpose of stealing. Constable V. D. Johnson was left at the buildiny to watch last Thursday night but the thieves did not appear. On Friday a coat was found under a pile of straw near the window and a man was placed to see if some one did not come to take it away during the day. One of the boys was fin ally seen as he picked up the coat and walked away. When arrested he implicated ar.other negro boy who was also arrested. I.eral Sales. Howell at * 158ft 00 VIBD. Mrs. Susan Stanley was born in Brunswick county, N. C., many years ago, but in young womanhood moved to Ilorry county near Boavcs' Ferry, where she diod on January 21st 1905, at the ago of seventy-two years. She leaves two sons with other rolatives to mourn their loss. Tho funeral services wore conducted by the Rev. H. D. Grainger. She was buried at the family grave yard. Mr. William Wright Grainger better known in his community as Morso Graingor, while in tho field at work with K'ellv Hodges, on February 1st 19Q5, fell deatf at the age of thirty-*!* years. Ho loaves a wife, three ohildren, father, mother, three brothers, five sisters and many loving friends to mourn their loss. His funeral was preached at Antioch church by the Rev. H D Grainger frhere his bodv was buried by loving friends. May God in His goodness bless these who are in trouble. McNEILL?BELL On Wednesday evening or last week, at the Kingston Presbyterian church Miss Mary McNeill was marvied to Mr. Thoma? J. Bell, the Rev. Mellon Clark of Floronce per forming the ceremony. The contracting parties are very popular young people, and long be fore the hour tixed for the ceremony, the church was packed with people The church had been beautifully decorated for the occasion The wedding march was rendered by Mrs. H. L lluek As the soft strains of the wedding march tilled the church, Miss Amy Burbage and Mr. Purdie Me Neiil entered the church by the opposite aisles, meeting <11 front of the alter, followed by Miss Margarette McNeill and Mr. A. W. Barrett. Then came the maid of honor, Miss Kate McNeill, a sister of the bride, carrying pink carnations. The bride entered with her father, Mr Donald T. McNeill, and carried bride's roses. The groom entered with his best man, Mr W. A. Freeman. They were all attired in appropriate costumes and the large audience looked on while the beautiful ceremony was performed, with that utter silence due to a solemn occasion. After the wedding there was a reception at the home of the bride's parents Numerous and costly presents were received attesting the high esteem in which these young people are held. Miss Mary is a charming young lady of lovable character and engaging disposition. The groom is to be congratulated on winning such a prize Mr. Bell is a young business man of unusual ability, and lor many years he has been filling a responsible position with the Vaccamaw Line of Steamers and the Conway, Coast & Western Railway. He is entirely self made and deserves credit for his industry and perseverance. Chain banr Notice. C , on December 23d. 1004. She was married when quite young to Nicholas Prince, who soon died, after which she married William Suggs, who also preceded her to the grave. She reared several children, nine of which are left to mourn their loss. She. was a eoesistant member of the M. E. Church. All who knew her loved h?r, and was kind in all her sayings, and never tired in givitg good advice, both temporal and spiritual.. We were loath to give her up, but she had fulfilled her duty here, and God called her home. Iler body was laid to rest in the Prineeville cemetery to await the resurrection morning.
