Miss Penelope McDufflc for the Southern Education Hoard Will Visit the Schools of Horry County. State Superintendent Martin and President D. P. Johnson of Winthrop are making special efforts Ito arouse interest in the great number oficountry schools. To aid in this work visitors have been appointed in several counties to go to each school, meet the trustees and teachers, and wherever practicable hold meetings at the school houses. At some places meetings of several schools will be held together and everywhere Miss MeDutHo will take her camera to get photographs show ing the condition of the school buildings and grounds. The attention of all those interested in the development of the rural schools is call ad to the following statement: To the Trustees of Schools in I lorry County: It is my duty as appointed by the committee for education in South Carolina to visit each school and report on its condition. You can help me make my report for llorrv a valuable as well as interesting one by giving your cordial interest and cooperation. i should like to meet all trustees, teachers, and the ladies of each com munity especially. In next week's paper I shall have a schedule of visits published so that each school may know when to expect me. Murrell of Eastman, Ga., is hero on a visit of some length to friends and relatives. Mr. Murrell enlisted in the war and left here when cpiito young about forty years ago. He had never seen the placo since until a few days ago. Messrs. Gaston and Arch Slut roll are his nephews. He is one of the leading citizens of Eastman.
