It is reported that a destructive
hail storm passed over the Ebeneezer
section of the county the first of
the week doing great damage to the
tobacco crops, some being totally
! destroyed. We are sorry to learn
of such a calamity to our farmers.

Mr. James Henning Porter, a

Manigault's brigade, died in Columbia
Sutuluy. He was interred in
the beautiful Camp Hampton lot at
Elm wood cemetery yesterday. Mr.
Porter, was about 65 years old.
