Dr. A. A. Willits was the attraction

evening. A large audience at

very thoroughly.
Mrs. Minnie L Frazier died at
about 2 o'clock on Wednesday of last
week at the residence of her father,
W. it. Lewis, and the funerd services
and interment took place on
the day following.
The residence of the late W. E.
Hardwick on the corner of 5th Avenue
and Laurel Street is advertised

at our wharf last week with
his yacht, the Carolina, to take surveys
in relation to the bridge that is
to be erected across the Waccamaw
River by the Conway, Seashore Rail
road The construction of the
bridge will begin us soon as the
plans are approved by the United
States government.
The Rev. W. L. Tart died very
suddenly last Sunday at the resi
dence of his daughter, Mrs. Lemuel
Hodges, near Cedar Grove. lie'
is well known in some parts of our
county, having had charge of some
of our Baptist churches several
years. His home was near Wilmington,
N. C., at the time of his
death. He cainc down, accompanied
by Mrs. Tart, a week or two ago
on a visit to his daughter, and was
.11 apparent perfect health.

DIED.
Francis Emiline Gere, wife of Albert
J. Gere, departed this life on
April 4th 11103. She was married to
Albert Gore on August 9th, 1871,
and they lived happily together as
man and wife, both being members
of the Rapt st church for about 25
years.
She professsed faith in Christ
and bore up well under her burden
until deat h relieved her.
She leaves a hushand, six chil
dren and a host of friends to mourn

Bound Over to U. S. Court.
An investigation in the caseof the
United States against Ed. Singleton,
a negro, for breaking open the
post office.' at Little River, was held
before Col. C. P. Quattlebaum last
Saturday, and the defendant was
bound ovor for his appearance at
the June term of the U. S. Court.
B. N. Gore, C. A. Livingstone and
P. K. Bcssent of Little River were
here as witnesses in the case.
