the town has had aw much annoyance

not a doubt that as much dispensu
ry liquor is being consumed in the t
town now as would be if thcdispoti '

whenever' they want it. Carries
are sent to the Toddville dispensary j
almost every day in tin? week. If
we could vote whiskey out of exist t
ence we would do it, but as long as
it is to be forced upon us, and the '
town has to put up with the annoy
ancc of it. it does seem fair that i
the town should have some of the
profits that accrue from its sale.
Conway may be behind some oth
er towns we might mention of the ^
same or less ago, or with the sainc
or less natural 'advantages, but no 1
town that we know of lias made a
greater show for the past three or
four years than our own. Conway
is now a growing town. Situate as v
it is in the midst of a large county \
just awakening to the sense of its 1
wonderful possibilities. the town (
must continue to grow and advance t

dustrial development. Therefore 1

Acquitted of Murder.
Maiuon. S. C., March 15th. Tin
trial of Josephine Hums for the
murder of Dustin L. Sarvis, way
concluded here early this morning
the jury returning a verdict of not
guilty as to murder, but guiltv ol
carrying concealed weapons. Sin
was fined $20.00 which was paid.
Much interest was manifested in
the trial, and the court room was
tilled with spectators. The verdict
was greeted with a storm of up
plause.
