Friday. The time for making tax
returns expires on February 20th,
until which time, the auditor's otllce
will be open for that purpose.

former was married yesterday, his
bride being Miss Susie Stone, the
charming and accomplished daughter
of W II Stone. The wedding

boundary in North Carolina.
Mr. Bryan is a bright young
business man and has a position
with tlie Burroughs & Collins Co.

The county supervisor has ottered
' a reward of twenty-five dollars for
the capture of John Harrell, a no*
( gro, who escaped from the chain

5 feet, 10 inches high, weighs 105
pounds, and the little finger of each
' hand is bent inward at the extremity
of the nails, lie carries a

The lion Jeremiah Smith has introduced
a bill in the I louse of Rep,
resentatives to provide for an elec>
tion in the county on the stock law
question. The bill has received a
favorable report from the commit
1 toe to which it was referred, and
1 the bill will likely become a law.
The opposing sides to this much
talked of question may begin to
! marshal their forces to go to the
polls at the next general election.
People are so much divided on this
matter, that an election seems the
i best way out of the difficulty.

Plnced at Interest.
The sinking fund for the retire|
meat of the railroad bonds against
Conway, Bayboro, Green Sea, and
Simpson Creek townshipk, has been
deposited at the hank of Conway on
an interest basis, and will hereafter
: draw interest in favor of the townI
ships. This matterMias been one of
great responsibility for the county
treasurer, as the law made no pro
vision as to how or on what terms
| lie should dispose of t he fund while
' it is accumulating. The amount of
this sinking fund is now the sum of
I $11,603 63. The fund will crow f.mtnr
? now that it will draw interest.
