As to Taxes.
The Comptroller General has
written the county treasurer to
-heck with blue or red pencil the
names of each tax payer on the du plicate,
whose taxes were not paid
l>y Jan. 1st. On Feb. 1st, to check
ill unpaid on that day, and on March
1st. all unpaid on that day. One
per cent penalty will be charged
igainst those who failed to pay by
Ian. 1st, two percent against those
who fail to pay bv Feb 1st, and
tho&e u paid on March 1st. seven
per cent penalty
The above will be the result un less
the time is extended by the Legislature.

A good globe in a school is very
useful, if the teacher will use it
properly.
It would be well, before making
any purchase, to consult with your
teachers so as to make sure that the
apparatus is needed, and will be u*ed
to advantage in the school. 1 hope
you will be very careful along this
line.

There was a quiet wedding Prill
ay evening at the residence of
Mrs. Mary Singleton, the bride's
mother. Miss Laura M. Singleton
was married to Mr. John MeCrack911,
G. R. Sessions performing the
ceremony. Afterwards we repaired
to the dining room where a
bounteous feast was spread of
which we all heartily partook. The
wedding guests were II C. Tuton of
Don way, Mr. and Mrs. M. Wisbyand
laughter.
The bride was charmingly attired
in blue cashmere trimmed in white
*ilk.
Their many friends wish them a
