This is the best time of the year to pay up and wc have waited patiently through the Summer. We trust this short hint wjlj be sufficient. Owinu to belter crops this year our fanners [have been able to pay up their debts. Many have settled balances that were left over from last year. The price of land in llorry County has advanced wonderfully during the last few years. It will advance in greater proportion from now on. Real estate is a good investment at this time. Reports from different sections of the county show that tlie acreage of tobacco is likely to be much increased mxt year. Tobacco paid well this year, and we hope that as much can be said for the coming sea- ( son. The Federal and State and County elections .vill come off next Tuesday the 4th of November. In addition to the election of Federal, State and County officers, there will be an election on the question of 1 amending Section 11, of Article VII of the State constitution. Section 11. Article VII, of the constitution makes each township in the State a body politic and corporate. The ; purpose of the Amendment is to add a proviso to the Section so that it , will not apply t ?certain townships in the counties of Greenville, Green- , wood, Laurens and Saluda. On the evening of Oct. 15th, was witnessed one of the prettiest lioim j weddings that has occurred in th'n section, at the seashore residence of Mrs. ltosa Voss, the con trading parties being Mr. James Oliver and Miss Clara Voss. The bride was beautifully attired in white, with lace trimmings, rib- ( bons and natural flowers. The groom was in full evening dress. j The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. W. Gatlin of the Methodist church, after which refreshments ' were served. The house was elegantly decorated with evergreens . and cut flowers. The couple will soon issue their "at homes" in their beautiful cottage by the sea. Guest. From Cool Spring. The health of the community is good at present. Farmers are busy harvesting their ctops. Corn is short, field peas are plentiful. I think there will be a fair crop of potatoes. Four new tobacco barns will -go up soon within less than a mile apart. K, L. Mishoe, John Doyle, Wilson Mishoe and A. God bolt are putting up one each. Mrs. Berry Gerrald and MissEtlie, will visit friends in Columbia this week and take in the Fair. Miss Susie Stone of Little River is visiting her sister, Mrs. T. L Bryan. Enoch Moore and Elbert Allen and Misses Delta and Nola Allen, visited the home of Hon. Jeremiah Mishoe on Sunday. Our publie school will open next Monday under the supervision of Miss Laura Ellerbee of Jordanvillo. As the time for the meeting of the Waccamaw Association draws near, I often hear the question asked: Who shall we elect Moderator? It is very likely Urcle Henry Ander son will not be able to attend.
