.J. S. Dusenbury, last Saturday,
stating that J. F. Dusenbury was
very sick of pneumonia at the South

The Good Roads Association has
been fortunate in securing an ablt
speaker to address our people here
on Monday next Cant. Hey ward
ts a large planter, and has for years
made a special study of the roads
question. Every man in tho county
will do well to hear this eloquent
speaker on a question that should
be of great inteiest to all.
The case of The State vs. Joseph
Elliott on the .charge of killing J.
^ H. Eloyd, is doubtless the most ino
l?ortant criminal case which will be
jried in tho Gentral Sessions next
??*eek. A case of this nature generally
takes* np much time of the court
and always draws a large crowd to
the court house.

Hon J ere Mishoe al so returned

Capt. L. D. Long left Conway last
Friday with his gallant com pa nv of
Hussars, to take in the many sights
at the exposition. In Charleston,
they met the rest of the militia of
the State and the grand lime they
have had we leave for oar readers to
imagine.
The now jury law was passed just
in time to prevent tin* jury tube
drawn for court next week* Our
Clerk of Court was notified when the
act was ratified, but it was found
that the juries could not be drawn
in the regular way fixed by the act.
There is a section of the law. how
ever, covering the case, and under
this section, an order was obtained
from judge watts 'validating the
drawing of tho juries for this term
of court.
