we take this mgans of thanking then

our last issue, "Citizen" wroti
a very intcres'ng letter concerning
the proposed n -.v court house am
other improvements which we ccr
tainly very much need. In this is
sue "Another ( :.:en,"' writes 01
the same subject.
We think the suggestion, thai
the town of Conway should eontrib
uto its share toward the building ol
a new court house, a very good one,
and it should receive immediate con
sideration from our enterprising
town council. New public building?
WDuld add as much to the town a?
they would to the county and per
haps it is correct to say that they
would add more to the town. We
hope to hear something more on this
subject.
Now and again complaints reach
this office that some of our subscribers
are not receiving their papers.
Two subscribers at one certain post
office reiiort lmr<? tlml t lnn
ceived but one copy of the paper
since lust January, ano believed that
we had discor'.tinned it, until we informed
them that we have been
sending the paper regularly all the
time.
We take great pains in sending
out the 11 Kit AM), see that there's a
copy for each man on the list, and
the bundles for the different post
offices properly directed. When a
subscriber, whose name i on the
list, fails to get. his papers, it is prima
facie pvideuee to us that there is
carelessness in the post office to
which the paper is sent. When
we take such great care, it is hard
to hear complaints like the above.
We respectfully ask the post masters
of the county to be careful and
see that the Hkuai.d is properly do
livered.

Kimtou IIkuai.u: I noticed in
your lust issue an article signed
''Citizen."calling on the town council
of Conway to lake steps to pro
vide an eleoirh -light plant and wa
tor works for the town, and I want
I to second the surest ion. Those
; thint's would certainly add much to
! the comfort of living here, and, as
i '"Citizen" says improve the sanita
ry condition. The town is admira
l)l.y situated for putting in a good
sewerage system, and the cost would
lie comparatively 11i11.
The Uupcr Co., putting in the
large milling plant in our subutbs
could doubtless be indu.-ed to supply
the power for the light plant at a
very low cost, but I. for one, am in
favor of "government ownership of
public utilities,' i. e. municipal util
itics, and believe that the iown
should own and ouorate the light
and water plants. and get the rove
