Mrs. Mary llrookmun Heaty died ;at her home in Con vay, S. Nov. 22n:l 15MU. She was born in liueksport, Maine. April nth, 1825; and at tin.- iiiiii'i'i mi uratii u an *? jVMI ?, 7 months and 17 days old Mrs. Heuty came to this county in 1811) and taught, school for two terms at Ihieksville, S. C. She returned to Maine in July 187)1, and in September of the same year, she was inarri?d to Thomas W. Meaty a native of Horry County, licturning South they made their home in Cop way. Five children were born to them, ail of whom died young. She survived her husband and all of her ehildren. dying with few of her kindred near An only brother, Mr. John I'. Hrookmun. of New York is the only living member of a large fumih. Of her children, two died with only a few weeksdifference in their deaths; and two others, Cora and Freddie were drowned while bathing in Kingston Lake, July 2nd 1870. The next year, she was called upon t<? mourn the death <>f her only surviving child. Her husband died in )88ti. and since .hat time, she has lived in thu same home. She was very fond of her home, a place very beautifully situated and made very attractive. I The associations of the place must have been very sad, yet dearer than any other place could have been to her.
