The Company refuses to pay
the insurance on the ground that
the firm did not keep their hooks at

by a stipulation in the policy. Tim
ease was to have been tried al the
last term of court but was continued
for some reason.
A case in claim and delivery between
W. E Porter, plaintiff, and J
Vince, Esq., defendant, was tried
before Magistrate Vau^ht lastTuesday.
The subject of the action was
a cow, upon which, P. A. Prince had
driven two bills of sale. Porter held
one of these securities and Prince
held the other. 'The complaint, was ,
dismissed on account of some defect
in the papers, after which the defend j
ant surrendered his claim to the plain
tiff.

some little excitement for a time

School with a good lesson, and obedient

will miss that pleasant smile each
morning and a seat is vacant in our
school today. Iler books have been
put away ami teaehei and pupils are
sad. yet we would not have her back
