The high winds last Friday night
blew down o?e of the shade trees on
3rd Avenue, on the corner near the
courthouse. The top and part of
the trunk came down upon the roof
of the small shop building nearby,
but djd little damage further than
breaking in a few planks of the sheeting.

of Kducat ion has received
notice from the publishers of the
new text books for the common

promptly made his bond for his

Miss Nancy .1. Brinson, whs boru
March 22ml 1879. ami died September
the lOtli, 1901, aged 22 years, T>
months and 19 days. She was con
verted to Christ at au early ago and
joined the Missionary Baptist church
at Macedonia, where she remained a
a faithful member until she was
summoned by death from this life.
About three weeks before her
death she attended a revival meeting
at Macedonia and seemed to enjoy
the blessings of her salvation.
She h:is the sunshine of the home
where she lived nnd her place in the
faunlv ciicle can not be filled.
From the testimony she left and
the noble lifesho lived, we have the
assurance that, she is now enjoying
that rest, that remains for the people
of Cod. May Cod bless and comfort
the bereaved and grief stricken
family.
