The Teachers Association.
Editor Herald:? As temporary !
chairman of the newly organized'
Teacher's Association, 1 big leave
to make a few suggestions to the
teachers and some requests of them.
We all know that without interest
and cooperation it is impossible for
an organization like this to succeed, j
or even live. It does not require a
great deal of cyphering to tigure out
the reason why organizations of this
kind in I furry have not been long
lived. Why cannot we wake up?
Horry county is advancing rapidly
along all lines and it lies in the power
of her teachers to prolong this
advancement beyond the reach of retrogression.
The first meeting of the Association
will be held at the Burroughs
school building on the first Saturday
in October and we trust every teach
er in the county will be present as
well as any others interested in education.
At this meeting you will
elect your officers for the ensuing
year, adopt your constitution, have
topic discussions, essays and music.
The regular program will be sent
out now soon, and perhaps | ublished
in next week's issuo of the Hkuai,p.
Again urging your full attendance,
I am
Respectfully,
