As temporary ! chairman of the newly organized' Teacher's Association, 1 big leave to make a few suggestions to the teachers and some requests of them. We all know that without interest and cooperation it is impossible for an organization like this to succeed, j or even live. It does not require a great deal of cyphering to tigure out the reason why organizations of this kind in I furry have not been long lived. Why cannot we wake up? Horry county is advancing rapidly along all lines and it lies in the power of her teachers to prolong this advancement beyond the reach of retrogression. The first meeting of the Association will be held at the Burroughs school building on the first Saturday in October and we trust every teach er in the county will be present as well as any others interested in education. At this meeting you will elect your officers for the ensuing year, adopt your constitution, have topic discussions, essays and music.
