Horry Exhibits. i Editor Herald:?It seems to be 1 generally conceded that Horry count}' should have a creditable exhibit at the South Carolina, inter- (. L'tate and West Indian Exposition. 1 which is to open at Charleston, on 1 December 1. 1001, and continue un til June, 1, and it is also con- 1 ceded that Horry can make such an j exhibit if the proper effort is made by our people. Tbe difficulty see ins to be to get each one to understand * that his or her individual effort is required to assure sutc ;ss and that each one of us is directly interested ?the one as much -as the other. ' That which will benefit the county at large, will be a benefit to each citizen of the county; and-ourcoun- ' ty pride should cause us to put forth our united effort to make Horry's exhibit a credit to us all. Better by far to have* no exhibit than to have one in which we cannot feel just pride. But our people generally seem willing to do their part, if ithey understood just what to do Let me sav that we should have as full an exhibit as possible of all of .the natural resources and products of our county, with everything which may , attract attention because of its superiority of its kind, or because of its rarity or oddity. At the risk of being tedious, find taxing your valuable space, please let mo name ii few articles which we especially desire: Kvorv variety of wheat, oats barley, rye, millet, threshed and sheaf; corn, stalk, cur, shelled, meal und homny; cotton, stalk, in seed, cottou seed, I ft) t cotton; Bice, sheaf, threshed, pounded; Clover, vetches; Peas, on vines, pods, shelled; Beans, garden, field; Irish potatoes, first crop, 'second crop; Swot potatoes of iniasa Mills.... * Fairmont Mill*..... 46,?00 46,200 1 1 CB --W ' 1 III FARME On W< D.
