Coroner A. H. J Galbraith was
summoned on Tuesday of last week
to hold an inquest over the dead
body of Jane Ellis, a colored woman,
who died suddenly, early that morn
ing near Haskell, S C. The virdict
of the jury was that she came to her
death from natural causes.
A new baggage ear has been
placed on the railroad and is some
what of an improvement over the
old One. If the petition sent in
some time ago results in the placing
of better cars on the track, out' citizens
will be paid for their trouble
although they fail to get the much
desireu passenger train.
There will be a Christ in.vs tree at
the Hurrowghs Graded School build
in# on Christinas night, Dec, 2i)th,
under the auspices of our three Sunday
Scnools. While it is gotten up
hy the Sinday Schools, it is under
stood that it will be open for the
participation of everybody whether
they belong to any of the Sunday
schools or not.

A tournament at Myrtle Beach
sometime during the holidays is a
matter which is being much talked
about just now. Other features besides
the tournament will be added,
such as a bicycle parade, bag race,
etc. Much interest is being manifested
by the young men in the vicinity
of MyrtL lleach and if it is
decided to have it, the young men
of Conway will be expected to lake
a part it might be possible to get
reduced rates on the railroad down
to the beach on that day.
